Principal Secretary (IPH) to the Government
of Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh Irrigation & Public Health Department is under
the overall administrative control of Principal Secretary (IPH) to the
Government of Himachal Pradesh.
Engineer-in-Chief
The Department is headed by Engineer-in-Chief whose office is at Shimla
and he is assisted by three Zonal Chief Engineers & a Chief Engineer
at Shahnehar for effective management and implementation of Government
programme in this sector.
North Zone at Dharamshala
District Kangra, Chamba and Una comes under the jurisdiction
of this zone. 4 IPH circles namely Nurpur, Dharamshala, Chamba and Una
comprise this zone.
Central Zone at Mandi
District Kullu and part of Lahaul & Spiti, Mandi, Hamirpur
and Bilaspur comes under the jurisdiction of this zone. 3 IPH circles
namely Kullu, Sundernagar and Hamirpur comprise this zone..
South Zone at Shimla
Shimla, Solan, Sirmour, Kinnaur and Spiti sub division of
District Lahaul & Spiti come under the jurisdiction of this zone.
5 IPH circles namely Rekong Peo, Rohru, Shimla, Project Management Unit
(PMU) & Nahan comprise this zone.
Chief Enginner Shah Nehar Project at Shahnehar
(District Kangra)
The Chief Engineer, Shahnehar is mainly looking after the work
of Shahnehar Major Irrigation Project and Sidhatha Medium Irrigation
Project in Distt. Kangra.
