Thakur Ravinder Singh "Ravi" Hon'ble Irrigation & Public

Born on 28th May, 1955 in the family of Late Thakur Ganga Ram at village Bheri, Post office Bheri, Tehsil Jaisinghpur, Distt. Kangra. He had his schooling in Govt. Higher Secondary school Balakrupi Distt. Kangra and further did graduation from G.N.D.U. Amritsar.
Thakur Ravinder Singh “Ravi” started his political carrier as social Activist in the year 1985 and later became the president of Bhartiya Janta Party Yuva Morcha, Thural Constituency, Distt. Kangra (HP) from the year, 1990 to 1993.
Thakur Ravinder Singh “Ravi” was elected to HP Vidhan Sabha for the 1st time in the year, 1993 from Thural constituency of Distt. Kangra and thereafter is continuing his win spree for the 4th consecutive term. During last term of BJP regime in the state i.e. from the year 1998 to 2003, he served as Minister of State for Technical Education (Independent charge), MPP & Power (attached with Hon’ble Chief Minister) . He was Chief Whip of the Bhartiya Janta Party Vidhayak Dal from the year, 2003 to 2007.
He is professionally an active Agriculturist. He is determined to spread
“Green revolution” in the state by extending irrigation facility to
the remotest of the remote village and advocate modern practices of
providing irrigation through sprinkler/drip irrigation system in order
to utilise even a single drop of water which otherwise is a scarce commodity
in some parts of this Hilly State, so that economic upliftment of small
farmer is assured.
Thakur Ravinder Singh “Ravi” has fluency in speaking Hindi, Pahari,
Punjabi & English and is also a good orator.
