COMMAND AREA DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
In order to bridge gap between potential created and utilised Command
Area Development activities (CAD) are also extended not only to medium
schemes but also to minor irrigation schemes.
The command area development programme (CADP) was initiated in the year
1974-75 under Centrally Sponsored Scheme with the objective of fast
utilization of created irrigation potential and optimum agriculture
production from irrigable land. Initially 3 Medium Irrigation Project
were included under the centrally sponsored command area development
programme, which has since been completed. 12 more CAD projects stands
completed under CAD Programme.
6 CAD Projects are in progress in the State.
Upto 3/2018, 22407 ha. field channels and 21811 ha. warabandi have been
completed in the Pradesh.During the year 2018-19, there is a traget
to provided flood protection in 2050 hects. out of which 996.81 hect.
have been achieved upto 3/2019.
